CounterBomber™

Law enforcement and military officials place a high priority on protecting citizens and forces from concealed human-carried explosives carried by suicide bombers. Required detection ranges extend beyond 100 meters; however, modern hidden weapon detection technologies use portal configurations that necessitate close-in sensing, putting security professionals at risk. SET is developing CounterBomber™, a portable, low-cost system that integrates heterogeneous sensors to extend operating ranges out to 100 meters, allowing remote operators to safely monitor large, crowded areas, such as shopping plazas and installation entrances. Upon detection, our system tracks the threat while alerting a field operator through a portable handheld device. The location and image of the threat are transmitted to the operator in time to interdict the threat before reaching its intended target.

Portable Sentry

SET offers intelligent surveillance and monitoring technologies that allow security solution providers to take full advantage of high-bandwidth wireless communication infrastructure. Our proven technologies remotely monitor acoustic and visual inputs for changes, and report critical changes to mobile handheld users through secure, Wi-Fi connections. Our technology has demonstrated excellent detection and false alarm performance using an off-the-shelf PDA integrated with an IEEE 802.11b connection, built-in microphone, and on-board commercial video camera. Easily expandable to create a networked portable sentry system, our real-time technology enables lightweight, cost effective, and secure solutions for remotely monitoring homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure with mobile handheld devices.

Intelligent Video Monitoring

Conventional video security systems generate large numbers of costly false alarms. They also lack the ability to intelligently filter relevant information from large quantities of extraneous video data, creating cognitive overload conditions in even the most proficient human operators. SET is addressing these problems by developing intelligent video monitoring technologies that automatically monitor specific behaviors in predefined regions of interest. Our technology allows an operator to quickly identify desired behaviors and interest regions, such as the red passenger deplaning corridor in the associated picture. Once defined, our system automatically monitors the video stream to detect deviations from allowable behavior patterns in and around these regions.
